Almost all Bureau of Immigration (BI) employees assigned at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) have been found free of the coronavirus.

BI port operations chief Grifton Medina said a total of 998 BI personnel at the NAIA have already tested negative of the disease based on the results of four mass rapid anti-body tests conducted since last month.

“At present, only 28 of the 1,026 BI personnel deployed at the airport have yet to undergo the test for the virus,” Medina said in a report to BI Commissioner Jaime Morente. “We remain cognizant of the fact that until we defeat this virus our frontliners are continually exposed to the to the risk of getting infected everytime they perform their duties,” he said.

‘If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it:’ Some senators hit bid to rename NAIA amid pandemicSome senators on Friday criticized the “ill-timed” and “divisive” proposal to rename the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in the middle of a pandemic. Why make a big deal about the timing and being divisive just to rename an airport. But please make the name simple for foreigners - Manila International Airport. Also focus on the quality of service and make it to international standards.

‘If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it:’ Some senators hit bid to rename NAIA amid pandemic“If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. We are facing a pandemic and we are thinking of renaming an airport? I believe we can do better than that,” Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon said. Current administration uses its resources to shift and ignore the current situation of the country 👎👎👎✈️✈️ In a democratic country majority rule prevails if most law makers favor to rename it so be it then those in the minority group just accept defeat that is how democracy works.
