Three Catholic prelates oppose the proposal to change the name of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) to

“Paliparang Pandaigdig ng Pilipinas” especially since it came at a time when there is a public health crisis due to the COVID-19.

“The people have no work, and many are hungry and sick. Let us not be distracted by discussion on changing names,” Apostolic Administrator of the Archdiocese of Manila Bishop Broderick Pabillo said in an interview. Pabillo said such a proposal showed “how disconnected the politicians are to the plight of the people.”

“Our country owes much to the sacrifices of Ninoy Aquino, who was martyred at this airport, which triggered the EDSA Revolution that ended the Marcos Dictatorship! NAIA is the cause and force of the glorious EDSA I. This is a great moment in the history of our country!” he said.

Eto na Naman sila nangingialam sa gobyerno. Di nalang nila asikasuhin Yun parokyano nila.

3 solons vs. 3 bishops...

Bishops? Why in heaven's name would bishops do that?

bakit noong pinalitan ng pangalan di rin kau umimik. karapatan ng mga kongresista iyan, to name and rename what they think is good. just pray na lang kayo... nothing else

What if NAIA is changed to Cardinal Sin International Airport,? Will they complain?

PaPaPi out. 😅

‘If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it:’ Some senators hit bid to rename NAIA amid pandemicSome senators on Friday criticized the “ill-timed” and “divisive” proposal to rename the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in the middle of a pandemic. Why make a big deal about the timing and being divisive just to rename an airport. But please make the name simple for foreigners - Manila International Airport. Also focus on the quality of service and make it to international standards.

‘If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it:’ Some senators hit bid to rename NAIA amid pandemic“If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. We are facing a pandemic and we are thinking of renaming an airport? I believe we can do better than that,” Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon said. Current administration uses its resources to shift and ignore the current situation of the country 👎👎👎✈️✈️ In a democratic country majority rule prevails if most law makers favor to rename it so be it then those in the minority group just accept defeat that is how democracy works.
