The Manila Police District (MPD) chief denied that there is a hard lockdown being implemented at Balon Compound at Barangay 658 in Intramuros, Manila, contrary to the claims of residents of the area.

In a video posted on Facebook on Wednesday, some residents called on the local and national government, saying that they have been placed under lockdown from Wednesday, May 27 up to Wednesday, June 3.

Myla Andico, barangay treasurer, said their barangay health center imposed the lockdown after four residents tested positive for coronavirus disease using rapid test kits. The barangay chairman said he is trying to find ways to help the families on his turf, athough he is not physically reporting for work after being infected with COVID-19.
