The effect of the northeast monsoon or

“amihan” has slightly weakened but continued to be the prevailing weather system across Luzon on Monday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration .

For now, the “amihan” persists across Luzon, bringing cloudy skies with light rains over Aurora, Quezon, Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, Abra, Apayao, Benguet, Ifugao, Kalinga, Mountain Province. While the northeast monsoon is still expected to persist, PAGASA said the “amihan” surges will not be as strong as what the country had experienced in the past few weeks.

Mendoza said PAGASA does not expect the formation of a low pressure area or tropical cyclone that may affect the country within the next three days.
