MANILA—Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte issued a notice of violations against Philippine offshore gaming operators hubs in Eastwood City, Libis, following a surprise inspection.

According to a statement Saturday, Belmonte led the inspection that revealed multiple companies' failure to present clearances required to conduct business, such as location clearance, sanitary permit, environmental clearance, and occupational permits of their employees.

Companies such as Omniworld Enterprise Inc., Singtech Enterprise Inc., and Great Empire Gaming and Amusement Corp., were given 15 days to comply with the requirements set by the city government. “While we welcome the business locators in our city, we want to ensure that our rules and regulations are followed to the letter." Otherwise, you will have to face the consequences of non-compliance,” Belmonte said.

The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. previously said the number of licensed POGOs rose to 60 after pending applications were approved . China had urged the government to ban all forms of online gaming as it welcomed the suspension of the issuance of offshore gaming licenses, its foreign ministry spokesperson Geng Shuang earlier said.
