The urban development of the Pasig River focusing on functional improvement and revitalization of the area is targeted to be completed in three years, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. said on Sunday.In a speech during the inauguration of the Phase 1C of the Pasig River Urban Development Project , Marcos said the project is set to make the Pasig River “look and feel” like famous waterways such as the Seine in Paris and the Thames in London.
Phase 1C involves functional development, which includes pedestrian-friendly infrastructure, commercial zones, and green spaces. It also covers leasable stalls, walkways, bike lands, and a boardwalk.The project’s structures are targeted to use renewable energy, and promote ecological practices aligned with environmental protection and conservation strategies.“Bringing the Pasig River back to life mirrors our ongoing journey towards a brighter future for our country.
