A recent survey pointing to high public optimism towards life and the economy is certain to boost the morale of those in government, Malacañang said Monday.

Presidential Spokesman Salvador Panelo issued the statement even after the survey showed fewer Filipinos expect their lives and the economy to improve in the next 12 months.

“We assure everyone that such encouraging level of optimism would certainly boost the morale of those in the government to deliver on the President’s promises and improve on the significant gains of the past three years until the remainder of PRRD’s term in 2022,” he said. The same survey showed 46 percent of the respondents expected their personal quality of life to improve in the next 12 months. The figure yielded a net score of +41, down by a point from the second quarter record, but remained classified as “excellent.”
