Vice President Leni Robredo may not be invited to the next Cabinet meeting since the government’s anti-drug campaign is not on the agenda, according to a Palace official.Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles said that likely to be discussed at President Rodrigo Duterte’s next meeting with the Cabinet are farmers’ concerns about the implementation of the rice tariffication law.
Asked if the drug war will be tackled in the next Cabinet meeting, Nograles said: “So far, wala pa sa agenda [It’s not on the agenda yet].” Nograles explained that Cabinet members are expected to attend the regular Palace meetings while other officials with Cabinet rank and heads of government offices will be invited on a case-to-case basis. Duterte usually convenes a Cabinet meeting every month.
“This is a memorandum dated August 2018 pa and this has not been amended and nakalagay dito kung sino yung attendees to regular Cabinet meetings. Nakalagay din dito other officials of Cabinet rank and heads of agencies na hindi naman kasama dito sa listahan will be invited on a case-to-case basis [It also states that officials with Cabinet rank and heads of agencies not included in the list will be invited on a case-to-case basis],” he said.
