Damage and aftershocks are expected following the tremor, says Phivolcs. Classes were suspended in all levels in Davao de Oro.

MANILA, Philippines – A magnitude 5.9 earthquake struck Davao de Oro at 2:58 am on Friday, October 20, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said in a bulletin.

Phivolcs said the earthquake, which was tectonic in origin, struck at a depth of 13 kilometers with New Bataan as the epicenter.The Davao de Oro provincial government suspended classes at all levels in both public and private schools.with the same epicenter, New Bataan.Intensity IV:Intensity III:City of Bislig and City of Tandag, Surigao del Sur
