THE state-run weather agency said that the low pressure area (LPA) off Davao City may dissipate either today, Wednesday, or Thursday.

This, as the northeast monsoon locally known as 'amihan' is affecting Luzon, including Metro Manila where partly cloudy to cloudy skies with light rains may prevail within 24 hours.Meanwhile, the LPA last spotted around 3 a.m. was estimated at 265 kilometers east-northeast of Davao City, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.

'Based on Pagasa's forecast, the LPA off Davao City will no longer be a threat as this will dissipate either today or tomorrow ,' according to weather forecaster Obet Badrina.He said Mindanao and Eastern Visayas will have overcast skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the weather disturbance, Pagasa said.Also, cloudy skies with rains may prevail due to the northeast monsoon over Cagayan Valley, the state weather bureau said.
