MANILA, Philippines — The low-pressure area last spotted east off Basco, Batanes has turned into Tropical Depression “Nimfa,” the state weather bureau said.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said “Nimfa” developed as of Tuesday, 2 p.m.Earlier, Pagasa said light to moderate rain is expected over Metro Manila and some parts of Luzon. /muf
