PHILIPPINE National Police Chief Guillermo Eleazar on Sunday, October 10, 2021, said he has ordered the Cebu City Police Office to look into the death threats against fraternity leader Richard Buscaino and other possible motives for his murder.

Buscaino, Central Visayas chapter president of Alpha Kappa Rho and former councilor of Barangay Calamba in Cebu City, was gunned down along Tres de Abril St. late afternoon of October 8, 2021.The PNP chief said he expects the local police to conduct a background check as well as look into the death threats against Buscaino.

“Bukod sa maraming maaaring motibo sa pagpaslang kay Buscaino ay dati na itong nakakatanggap ng banta sa kanyang buhay at nakaligtas sa tangkang pagpatay sa kanya noong 2018,” Eleazar said. “I would like to assure Buscaino’s family that the PNP will not leave any stone unturned and we will not stop until we bring the perpetrators to justice,” he added.“Nananawagan din tayo sa mga nakasaksi sa insidente o kaya’y may hawak na impormasyon sa pangyayari na makipagtulungan sa kapulisan para sa agarang ikalulutas ng kaso at ikadarakip ng mga salarin,” Eleazar said.
