Next to their Indonesian counterparts, Filipinos saw the second biggest improvement in viewing live videos when they switch from 4G to 5G connection, data from Opensignal showed.
Indonesia saw the “biggest leap” of 32.7 percent improvement. Peru came in third, followed by South Africa, Malaysia, Guatemala, India, Chile, Argentina, Brazil, and Romania. According to Opensignal, Live Video Streaming “matters even more to mobile users because if there are any delays, or even small hiccups, in the production process or network, users’ experience will be ruined.”
The global Live Video Streaming Market was valued in 2021 at $1 billion. It is expected to balloon to $4.3 billion in the next five years. Globe is one of only seven operators globally to be recognized as a “Global Rising Star” in four or more categories for the percentage improvement in Opensignal users’ mobile experience between the second half 2021 and the second half 2022.
