Presidential candidate Senator Panfilo Lacson on Thursday said he was not hinting at his rival Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. when he warned voters against Eleksyon 2022 candidates who are “thieves,” “deceitful,” and “unfit.”
"Never ako nagsabing magnanakaw si Marcos. Ang sabi ko lang huwag tayong bumoto sa magnanakaw [I never said Marcos was a thief. What I said was let us not vote for a thief]. Now if they feel alluded to, that's their problem," Lacson said in a media briefing in Malabon City when sought for comment on supporters of Marcos Jr. arguing otherwise.
"Kasi kapag nasasaktan ka sa sinasabi, hindi naman ikaw 'yung pinatutungkulan, meron siguro silang alam na hindi natin alam," Lacson added.Lacson said he and his running mate Senate President Vicente Sotto III were not thinking of the possibility of losing in the May 9 elections.The senator said he and Sotto are confident their "silent supporters" will secure them victory in Eleksyon 2022.
According to Lacson, these include the overseas Filipino workers who sent them screenshots that they voted for their tandem at the Overseas Absentee Voting.
