MANILA—The Philippine health department "may be underreporting" the number of novel coronavirus cases, Sen. Panfilo "Ping" Lacson said Saturday, hours after Health Secretary Francisco Duque III confirmed the 6th case of the disease raised Code Red alert status in the country.
The senator stressed that responding against the dreaded disease "is a top health priority, and government must invest heavily not only on prevention and cure by way of research, but also on containment." The Department of Health on Friday confirmed the Philippines' 4th and 5th COVID-19 cases -- including its first-ever local transmission -- more than a month after it announced the third coronavirus patient in the Southeast Asian country.

DoH is incapable of handling such a crisis so they hid the truth to the public to give a 'sense of security.' And the result? Infection. If this was not hidden, the 4&5 patients could have been more vigilant. They could have given themselves more protection like using alcohol etc

i wouldnt be surprised if this was the case..i knew one person who recently been a frontliner in monitoring pui had told me not everyone who came to ph are being tested unless one shows symptoms & all since reagent are quite expensive & limited.
