MANILA, Philippines — The intertropical convergence zone is forecast to affect western sections of the country while the easterlies are affecting the eastern sections, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration .In its early weather bulletin on Wednesday, Pagasa said as a result of the ITCZ , the Zamboanga Peninsula, Basilan, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, and Palawan would experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.
The ITCZ is where winds from the Northern and Southern Hemisphere converge and cause bad weather.The eastern sections, specifically Cagayan Valley, Aurora, Quezon, Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Caraga, and Davao Region, will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms because of the easterlies or warm winds blowing from the Pacific Ocean.
