IT's about time we make a fuss and impress on one and all, particularly government officials of high and low rank, military personnel of all levels, and the Philippine National Police, that they should not have government perks that set them apart as an elite class to which all ordinary citizens have to give way, endure their overreach of government facilities and in general, set themselves above the citizens they are supposed to serve and whose taxes pay them.

Probably from colonial times when land was taken for encomiendas and enclaves like Baguio City had swaths of land carved out for the use of government officials, some taken from previous settlers there.It became the summer capital of the American Occupation with houses built with taxpayers' money placed at the disposal of government agencies as summer homes.
