MANILA—Tropical cyclone Ineng has intensified into a severe tropical storm Friday, state weather bureau PAGASA said.
Tropical cyclone wind signal number 2, which could experience 60 to 120 kph winds within 24 hours, was raised over Batanes. Ineng was last spotted 580 kilometers east of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan and is moving northwest at a speed of 20 kph. Light to moderate with intermittent heavy rains may prevail over Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Cavite, Batangas, Mindoro Provinces, northern portions of Palawan, including Calamian and Cuyo Islands and the rest of Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region and Cagayan Valley.
