The senator said it is now imperative to consider regulating the sale and distribution of prepaid SIM cards to help curb such nefarious and illegal activities. Gatchalian said it is important to include a subscriber’s facial features or names in the prepaid SIM cards especially during this time of a pandemic since it can also be used for contact-tracing.
SIM card registration must be implemented to help combat fraud & scams. It will be an indispensable tool for State Forces. Security must be the top most consideration.
