Duterte monitors global COVID-19 situation
Malcañang said President Duterte continues to monitor the global COVID-19 situation, while focusing on the country’s determined efforts to stem the tide of the pandemic but also worldwide updates.
Presidential Spokesman Salvador Panelo (OPS / MANILA BULLETIN)“Si Pangulo ay mananatili sa kaniyang (The President will stay in his) official residence. He will continue to function and perform his duties as President,” he said.“He will continue to monitor and then give directives or directions sa lahat ng mga ahensiya ng gobyerno sa anumang kaganapan na nangangailangan ng kaniyang pagtugon (to all agencies on all developments that require his attention),” he added.
“Dito lang po siya sa Maynila upang madalian na mabigyan ng katugunan ang anumang uri ng suliranin na ipapaaabot sa kaniya (He will stay in Manila to immediately respond to any kind of problem or concern that may be raised to him),” he continued.According to Panelo, President Duterte is monitoring worldwide COVID-19 updates everyday.
“Siya po ay araw-araw nagmo-monitor ng mga kaganapan natin. Gaya nga ng sinabi niya, nanonood siya ng lahat ng istasyon all over the world, kung ano nangyayari sa ibang bansa (He is monitoring the developments everyday. Like what he said, he is watching all news stations all over the world to know what is happening in other countries),” he said.
The Palace official added that Duterte has been receiving many messages regarding the government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, with special attention to concerns or problems that need to be addressed urgently.“Tumatanggap po siya ng halos isang libong mensahe yata sa pamamagitan ng kaniyang mga aides. Kahit ako nagpapadala rin sa kaniya (He is receiving I think almost a thousand messages through his aides. Even I forward to him some messages),” Panelo said.
