DSWD’s Disaster Response Operations Monitoring and Information Center report as of evening of May 23 showed that the total ₱16.6 million assistance was provided by the DSWD and local government units .
The number of families affected by “Ambo” had reached 140,119 families or 578,571 persons in 491 barangays in Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Eastern Visayas, and Cordillera Administrative Region.There were a total of 1,022 families or 3,657 persons who took temporary shelter in 72 evacuation centers in the affected regions.Meanwhile, DSWD has reported more damaged houses due to the massive destruction of “Ambo.
The typhoon has left a total of 55,427 houses damaged; of which, 7,508 were totally damaged and 47,919 were partially damaged in Eastern Visayas, DSWD reported.
