The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) announced on Saturday that it will start the construction of the San Rafael North Resettlement Site in Noveleta City, Cavite in July.

The eight-hectare resettlement project is part of Package 5 of the P7.1-billion Cavite Industrial Area Flood Risk Management Project .

CIA-FRIMP Package 5 includes residential land development, road and drainage works, embarkment and slope protection works, laying down of water supply pipelines and electric posts wiring, and other necessary facilities. DPWH Unified Project Management Office Flood Control Management Cluster project director Ramon Arriola III said about 470 informal settler families and 110 formal settler families that will be affected by CIA-FRIMP will be accommodated by the resettlement area.CIA-FRIMP, which started in April last year, covers 148.8 square-kilometers of the San Juan River Basin and 4.7 square-kilometers of the Maalimango Drainage Area.
