The Cagayan State University has adopted the abaca fiber composite technology developed by the Industrial Technology Development Institute of the Department of Science and Technology .

“The MOA gives CSU the license to adapt, utilize, make, produce and pre-commercialize the technology on the production of abaca fiber composites, especially in the fabrication of the body/cowl of its E-trike,” DOST Secretary Fortunato “Boy” T. de la Peña said in a taped report on Dec. 3. The Center will redesign a lightweight chassis; improve mechanical energy transmission systems, and determine optimal electronic/electrical systems as far as the mechanical design for the tricycle is concerned.
