The Department of the Interior and Local Government pressed local officials to stop children from caroling.Undersecretary Martin Diño urged village chiefs to come up with rules on house-to-house caroling.

He said that children aged 5 to 11 should not be allowed to visit houses because they have yet to be vaccinated against Covid-19.Aside from the threat posed by the new coronavirus, Diño said children also face other threats because they mostly do their caroling at night.
