Making history at the Golden Globes and BAFTA as the first Pinay to be nominated for the best supporting actress category, Dolly de Leon is just getting started.

During the launch of the “Hulmahan” project at the University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City last Feb. 1, Dolly shared the story of making her way to the Golden Globes red carpet.

The “Hulmuhan” project was created by Dolly’s group called Ladies Who Launch, together with her long-time friends Zena Bernardo, Judith Albano, and Jasmine Ong. They will hold an exhibit on March 15 that will feature Hulmahan artworks from various artists. The proceeds from the program will go to the Bayanihang Marikenyo at Marikenya’s livelihood projects.

“So yung mga tao talagang iniidolo ko, hindi ko sila nameet like Viola Davis, Cate Blanchett kasi mahiyain talaga ako, pero yung nastar-struck talaga ako kay Michelle Yeoh, as in grabe kasi imagine she’s in her sixties tapos ngayon lang siya nakakuha ng ganung recognition,” Dolly added.Despite receiving numerous international awards for her role as Abigail in the critically acclaimed movie “Triangle of Sadness,’ the actress admitted that she was a bit sad about not getting an Oscar nomination.
