MANILA, Philippines — The chance of getting infected with anthrax is "very low" for most people, the Department of Health said after cases of the infectious disease were reported in other countries.
Anthrax typically affects ruminant livestock such as cows, goats and sheep. It, however, can infect humans and be deadly in some cases. "There were no reported anthrax health events in 2019 to 2021; neither have there been any from January 1 to March 29, 2024," it added. Last week, Thailand ordered close monitoring of livestock following an anthrax outbreak in neighboring Laos, where 65 suspected human cases were reported.GForest named 2023 national winner of Energy Globe Award in the PhilippinesWatsons wins Silver at 59th Anvil Awards for Himtayan campaignClose to 20 fatalities have been recorded by the Philippine National Police due to drowning during the observance of Holy...In its 5 a.m.
