THE Department of Migrant Workers on Wednesday finally released its new guidelines on the right to refuse sailing of Filipino seafarers bound for high-risk areas or war-like zones , including the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.

This includes making sure the affected Filipino seafarers have the necessary training and advance information if their ship will pass through HRA or WLZ. The LMA and principals should also ensure the immediate and safe repatriation of the seafarers who will invoke their RTR sailing.
