DFA: 56 more Pinoys abroad positive for coronavirus; total now 6,074 COVID19

MANILA - The Department of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday said 56 more Filipinos abroad have gotten sick with COVID-19, raising the total of overseas infections among Filipino citizens to 6,074.

The highly contagious diseases also killed 24 more overseas Filipinos, bringing the death toll to 466, the agency said. Today, the DFA received reports from its Foreign Service Post confirming 56 new confirmed COVID-19 cases across the three main geographic regions, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 6,074. pic.twitter.com/C7HfAinHpOTo date, some 2,766 Filipino patients abroad are undergoing treatment for COVID-19, broken down as follows by region: 83 in the Asia Pacific, 508 in Europe, 2,018 in the Middle East and Africa, and 157 in the Americas.

In the Philippines, COVID-19 has so far sickened 27,238 people, with 1,108 deaths and 6,820 recoveries. -- With a report from Willard Cheng, ABS-CBN News
