A report provided by Laguna police said the victim, Ernanie Lumban Jimenez, collapsed after sustaining injuries from the incident involving quick response team watchmen of Barangay Turbina at 11 p.m. last Wednesday.Jimenez, the report said, figured in a commotion and was later beaten up after being accosted for supposedly violating the curfew. He died two days later.
She said representatives from Barangay Turbina told police, however, that Jimenez tried to flee when he was brought to the village hall to urinate. Gaoiran said that unless they are charged with a crime, curfew violators in Laguna are usually sent home after being issued violation tickets or receiving warnings from enforcers.
