Keeping in mind the children who have been deprived of play during the pandemic, a collector decided to put up a community toy pantry in San Pedro, Laguna.

Richard Licop, 27, said he has given away 100 toys from his pantry which he only opened on Thursday, April 22.Apart from toys, Licop also gave food to children and parents who went to the toy pantry.“Sa mall at amusement [parks] lang sila nakakakita nun, so I decided na dahil din with me para lalo silang matuwa ,” the 27-year-old told the Manila Bulletin in an online interview.

“I want it to maintain the toy pantry po because hindi natin alam pero deprived ang mga bata ngayon sa laruan at sa pag lalaro ,” he said. As some of them are not allowed to go outside, Licop said parents can get the toys on behalf of their children. Licop said he hopes his small act of kindness would inspire his fellow collectors to share their toys with kids.
