MANILA, Philippines – Philippine National Police chief Police General Dionardo Carlos on Monday, December 6, clarified that police personnel assigned to schools cannot enter these without permission.
“Let me point out that these police security personnel are under strict orders to establish their presence outside the campus and to enter school premises only when requested by school authorities,” Carlos said during his weekly press conference on Monday.in the country’s capital participated in the pilot run of limited face-to-face classes. Under the DepEd rule, “schools, as a general rule, should be free from the presence of armed combatants, whether they be from government forces or armed groups. Armed force protection units from government forces, if needed, shall be situated proximate to the school and not inside the school.”
