Cagayan de Oro City Rep. Rufus Rodriguez sees no other impediments that will further delay the committee’s decision on the various Charter change proposals.
Rodriguez has filed two Charter change bills which will be among the legislative measures to be considered by his committee. IN the RBH, Rodriguez lifted much of the charter change recommendations made by the Malacañang-created Consultative Commission. Proposed regions are the National Capital Region, Northern Luzon, Southern Luzon, Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Western Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Southern Mindanao, and Bangsamoro Autonomous Region.Congressmen will also have a fixed four-year tour of duty that will be limited to three consecutive terms.Under the Rodriguez proposal, Congress shall have the authority to provide for the exploration, development and utilization of natural resources.
