Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano appealed on Monday (April 6) to communities with confirmed COVID-19 cases to exhaust all means to ensure that food and medicine will be delivered to the homes of residents who tested positive for coronavirus disease.

In a Facebook Live post on Monday afternoon, the Taguig City-Pateros representative exhorted the the public to find ways to help those who are ill.

He said his wife, Taguig City-Pateros 2nd district Rep. Lani Cayetano, relayed to him that a resident experienced discrimination in their community after being found positive for the coronavirus. “Sabi ko nga kay Lani, let us keep explaining, and then pahatiran talaga ng pagkain at needs nila,” he added.

“Kung yung tao isa-shut natin, kung yung tao hindi makakain, kung tao ay diabetic, may hika at high blood, tapos ‘di natin bibigyan ng tamang gamot at medical attention, then we will not be saving lives — nasaan ang humanity in all of that?” he said.
