The Carmen Copper Labor Management Relations Committee received the 2019 Outstanding Grievance Machinery for Industrial Peace Award from National Conciliation and Mediation Board officials during the awarding ceremony of the 21st National Convention on Labor-Management Cooperation held in Cagayan de Oro City. | Contributed Photo

The Department of Labor and Employment and the National Conciliation and Mediation Board gave the award on November 21, 2019 during the 21st National Convention on Labor-Management Cooperation held at the Atrium, Limketkai Center in Cagayan de Oro City, Misamis Oriental. Carmen Copper is an organized establishment with over 2,400 employees, 78 percent of its manpower complement are members of the union. CCWLO is Carmen Copper’s sole and exclusive bargaining agent.

In the last three years, 95 percent of the employee offenses were resolved at the plant level. Carmen Copper ensures that substantive and procedural due process is always observed and that the investigative bodies are impartial in resolving cases.
