MANILA, Philippines — Defending NLEX ace gunner Robert Bolick was no easy task for Meralco veteran Allein Maliksi, who had his moments guarding the former in Game One of their PBA Philippine Cup quarterfinal series last Friday.

Bolick was red-hot from the get-go, accounting for 20 of NLEX's 28 markers in the first quarter alone.The former San Beda combo guard went on to finish with a career-high 48 points as he almost single-handedly led the Road Warriors to the victory, only to be stymied by the Bolts, who gutted out a 97-93 win in the end.'When he's hot, he's really hot. He's a very talented guy.

On the other hand, Meralco coach Luigi Trillo said defensively, they will have to find more ways to limit Bolick's ability to wreak havoc, while expecting Game Two to be a lot tougher as they try to close their best-of-three series.'The advantage of Robert is, he's not just good at picking his angles , but he's also a good passer.
