Bishops have pledged to cooperate with re-elected president of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines Davao Archbishop Romulo Valles.This was the assurance relayed by Balanga Bishop Ruperto Santos, who was also elected as one of the regional representatives of the CBCP Permanent Council during their three-day Plenary Assembly in Manila.Santos said more so because they are preparing for the 500th year anniversary of Christianity here in the country in 2021.
He said they also hope to do more for the people, particularly the “voiceless”, under the leadership of Valles whose second term will begin on December 1, 2019. “We look forward to do more to a faithful and responsible stewardship of our environment; care and protection of our people especially the vulnerable and voiceless,” said Santos.Other elected members of the CBCP Permanent Council are: Palo Archbishop John F. Du , Fr. Marvin S. Mejia , Msgr. Bernardo R. Pantin .
