Belmonte cautions meat vendors against overpricing

Belmonte on Saturday asked pork meat retailers to “sell their products at the right price” after the city veterinary department discovered several vendors were selling pork at P300 per kilo beyond the suggested retail price of P260 to P270 per kilo.

Belmonte assured her constituents that city officials are closely monitoring all markets to protect them against overpricing. The local government acknowledged that there is an increase in the price of pork due to the shortage of hog supply in Luzon and restrictions in the shipment of live animals from Visayas and Mindanao.
