TYPHOON Basyang has intensified further but is now outside the Philippine area of responsibility , the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said on Tuesday, April 12, 2022.
Pagasa said the duration of the typhoon within the PAR was brief and was able to leave the PAR around 1 p.m. Tuesday. “These conditions may be risky for those using small seacrafts. Mariners are advised to take precautionary measures when venturing out to sea and, if possible, avoid navigating in these conditions,” it added.
Eastern Samar, Samar, Northern Samar, Biliran, Leyte, Southern Leyte and Camotes Island in Cebu and Dinagat Island are still under Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal Number 1. Light to moderate with at times heavy rains are also expected at the Mimaropa region, Dinagat Islands, Zamboanga del Norte, Quezon and the rest of Bicol Region and Visayas.
The NDRRMC said they are still verifying the 20 casualties of Agaton that were earlier reported by their regional offices.
