Big banks’ outstanding loan in November 2021 was up by four percent year-on-year and higher than October’s 3.5 percent, based on Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas data.

The BSP said that it “sees enough scope to continue providing appropriate policy support in order to sustain the recovery in credit activity.” Consumer loans, however, decreased by 7.1 percent in November to P813.77 billion. Only credit card loans registered an increase during the period, while motor vehicle loans and salary-based general consumption loans all declined.
