ARMED Forces Chief Gilbert Gapay on Wednesday sought the immediate filing of murder charges against the nine policemen in Jolo, Sulu for the killing of four Army officers on June 29.
“There were a lot of speculations. That’s why on the part of the Armed Forces [of the Philippines] we urge the immediate filing of murder, planting of evidence and neglect of duty as recommended by NBI on the proper courts immediately,” he said. “We find the spot report fabricated, full of inconsistencies and misleading. That’s why right there and there we requested NBI to assist in the investigation because in the spot report we are in the feeling that we will not get an impartial investigation on this case,” Gapay said.
Army Capt. Rico Tagure, who was among the first officers who rushed to the crime scene, testified that Padiri initially told him that Abu Sayyaf terrorists killed the soldiers.
