The Department of Health says any sharp increase in new COVID-19 cases in the coming days may lead authorities to reimpose strict quarantine rules that this weekend were eased in several areas of the country

Speaking to CNN Philippines on Sunday, DOH Spokesperson Maria Rosario Vergeire talked about photos showing the number of people who flocked to malls in Metro Manila on Saturday, after the city shifted to modified enhanced community quarantine status.Pero kung makikita po natin ito tapos biglang mag-surge angwe need to do another total lockdown if cases will increase," she said.

Malls and other facilities in Metro Manila partially opened on Saturday and Vergerie commented she hoped the guidelines set for these establishments would be followed.

LOL funny but even if cases surged, we wouldn't know since DOH is controlling data release to 200+ new cases a day. And with weeks worth of backlogs, we'll probably only detect the actual surge a month after it happened.

Will the DOH really report any future surge, tho. Not even sure anymore if they are reporting the actual numbers right now.

So kelngan may sharp increase muna bago gawen ang strict quarantine? Tatanga

Wear a mask, Social distance, sanitize your hands. 😃

While the lifting of quarantine is purely based on economy being restarted reasons, Now some entities are starting to think, if we did the right thing for public health and safety ... hope its not too late before we realize it

Total Lockdown na po sana until 31..

Wala naman pang test, pano malalaman ung surge? Pati tracing hindi rin magawa 😔

labas pa more, go go go, 'gala now, cremate later'

Pede naman kasi i lift tapos buksan public transpo for work purposes. Mas maingat mga empleyado kasi may pamilyang bubuhayin yan. Binuksan mall? Nagpapatawa ang gobyerno 😂

Stop blaming the govt. We already know how lame they can be. If you’re part of the essential sector which needs to re-open then take hyper care not to be infected. If you are high risk and non essential part of the society then stay at home. Discipline is what we need here.

They lift the ECQ on the day after the pay day, on a weekend after people was basically locked up for a few months. This is to be expected. Nasabik mga tao. This should’ve been lifted on a weekday, a week after sweldo for most middle/high class whose majority still WFH.

1. stop mall opening and control people coming in sa supermarket 2. watch offices apply social distancing starting tomorrow 3. liquor ban 4. strict wearing of mask

The DOH need to act and think fast!

philippinestock Well , where is our leader and the government in coming up with a good public campaign and remind citizens to be cautious and vigilant .. Other countries can do it - why not The Philippines 🤦‍♂️

philippinestock Mass testing please.

No, this is so stupid! it’s not back to zero! This virus is going nowhere for a long time! It must be accepted! We must be proactive! Not reactive! We must learn how to live with it! You can’t keeping hiding from it. Go out and live your life, work and take care of your family.

Back to zero? This is sad

The way they planned this, it's not a matter of if a spike will occur but when.

Trial and error?

Should have never been lifted so soon. We haven’t even flattened the curve yet! 2 months wasted and back to scratch all over again

They better act fast and not wait another 2 weeks.

2weeks na po 200+ ang infected every day.. Hindi pa sila nagwoworry?

how would they know if it came from this weekend? Backlogged pa rin ang testing di ba?

The government has run out of money, I doubt they can impose strict measures again as they can't even afford to feed people if they don't allow them to work
