DAVAO CITY - The city government is now bracing for the possible surge of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases, now that the city is under general community quarantine (GCQ).

Duterte underscored that, despite the transition to GCQ, ordering lockdowns will remain as an option for the city government, especially if an area registers COVID-19 cases. The three lockdowns stated in their guidelines will be for areas covering the house, street, or compound. She said, as of May 15, the city has already 503 beds in 11 different partner facilities, such as Queensland and RMC Petro Gazz Arena.
