The municipal government of Angono, Rizal has saved roughly 25 percent in its monthly electric bill due to the solar energy which it has been using since March.

The office of Mayor Jeri Mae Calderon revealed that the town government has been saving around P40,000 or 25 percent of its total monthly electric bill every month since April when it adopted the hybrid sources of energy — solar and the electricity sourced from Manila Electric Company .

Maniaol said the local government has been spending an average of P200,000 to P240,000 a month on electricity bills in the past few months prior to using the solar energy.
