Airlines cancel flights between Philippines, China over new coronavirus scare CommuterPatrol

MANILA - Several airlines said Saturday it would cancel flights between the Philippines and mainland China and its territories amid the outbreak of the new coronavirus.

Cebu Pacific earlier said it was reducing flight frequencies between the Philippines, Hong Kong and Macau. The Philippine Airlines , meanwhile, said it would halve flights from China and its several territories starting Feb. 1. Rebooking and rerouting are allowed for travel until June 30, 2020 with penalties waived. Refunding the cost of tickets is also allowed with penalties waived.Meanwhile, AirAsia said it would also be limiting flights between the Philippines and China until March 1.

"AirAsia is complying with advice and regulations from the local government, civil aviation authorities, global and local health agencies, including the World Health Organization," AirAsia said.
