Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Zulum, has mourned the death of the Commander of 25 Task Force Brigade of Operation Lafiya Dole, Col. D.C. Bako, who was mortally wounded in a battle with insurgents.
The Colonel was confirmed dead by the Army from injuries sustained in combat around Damboa in the southern part of Borno on Sunday. “He defeated many enemies of peace and protected many sons and daughters of Borno State to the extent that he gave his life defending the people of Borno. By the grace of God, the supreme sacrifices made by Col. Bako and many other heroes like him in the armed forces shall not be in vain.
