Seven days the demise of Emir of Biu, Alhaji Umar Mustapha Aliyu Biu, Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum has appointed his son, Alhaji Mustapha Umar Mustapha the new Emir of Biu.The new Emir of Biu until his appointment was the Midala of Biu and district head of Biu east.
The secretary to the state government also while reading out the appointment letter dated 21/9/2020 said the appointment is based on the exercise of the powers conferred on the executive governor by section 73 of the Borno state local government laws,2000 and section 5 of the chief law cap.25 laws of Borno state 1994 .
