August 24, 2022SaharaReporters had recently reported that 243 soldiers in the North-East and other theatres of operation applied to the Chief of Army Staff for voluntary retirement.

The action comes amid worsening security challenges the military is currently combating in most parts of the country. The approval of their voluntary disengagement dated August 15 was signed by Colonel S.S. Ahmed and exclusively obtained by SaharaReporters last Thursday.

I laughed in kunfu. As if the Boko Haram have not been promoted already. They are the head over there and that's why insecurity has become the order of the day in Nigeria.

When a particular set of tribe are the ones being recruited into the army, what do you expect? And not only thag, some are also sympathetic to boko haram. So it would be a risk to remain in such clime.
