A former Chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, NERC, Dr Sam Amadi, has pointed out some ministries the incoming Bola Tinubu’s administration should consider unbundling.
Amadi said the Ministry of Works and Housing should be unbundled, while the Ministry of Energy should be created, which should consist of Power and Petroleum. “Power and Petroleum Ministry should be redesigned. I think everything that has to do with gas, and gas transport should go back to power. Power should include gas transportation; you know, Yar’adua brought it up because of our dependence on hydro-carbon.
“We should have a Ministry of Youths and Innovation so that they will focus on youths from the perspective of development and not the educational point of view, so we now have a Ministry of Youths and Human Development.
