The Presidential Election Petitions Court has fixed Monday for the hearing of the petitions challenging the declaration of the All Progressives Congress standard bearer, Bola Tinubu as the president-elect. With this development, the expected legal battle by candidates disputing the outcome of the 2023 presidential poll will commence from May 8.

3. The police, on Tuesday, began grilling the suspended Adamawa State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Hudu Yunusa-Ari, at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, over alleged impropriety during the April 15 supplementary governorship poll in Adamawa State. The Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, confirmed that Yunusa-Ari and other suspects were in police custody and were being grilled.

5. Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have neutralised one suspected kidnapper while three others were arrested with various degrees of gunshot injury. The police team also recovered one AK-47 rifle, one double barrel locally made gun, 18 rounds of ammunition and a suspected stolen GLK Benz from the suspects.

The House of Representatives, yesterday, urged the Central Criminal Court and the government of the United Kingdom to temper justice with mercy in sentencing the former Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, his wife, Mrs Beatrice Ekweremadu, and Dr Obinna Obeta who have been found guilty of organ harvesting.
