has approved the change of financier for the Nigerian Railway Modernisation Project .

CDB is taking over from China Exim Bank, which withdrew from the project due to the impact of COVID-19. The $22.7billion External Borrowing Plan was approved by the Senate and the House of Representatives on 5 March 2020 and 2 June 2020, respectively. Speaking against the request, the Chairman of the House Committee on Agreement, Treaties, and Protocol, Nicholas Ossai , said the minister of finance must provide the new details on the agreement before the approval is granted.
